Rebuild Base Detachment & Air Station Borinquen, Aguadilla, Puerto Rico

In September 2017, Base Detachment Borinquen (BDB) and Air Station Borinquen (ASB) suffered extensive damage to its many facilities from Hurricanes Irma and Maria. This damage severely affected the Coast Guard’s ability to efficiently perform its missions, such as search and rescue, law enforcement, aerial support for navigation aid, and logistics support. The scope of work for this project therefore includes electrical and telecommunications distribution, water distribution, storm water improvements, sanitary sewer improvements, other site improvements and demolition, and Coast Guard Exchange (CGX) resiliency repairs. The work includes replacing and providing electrical resiliency to the electrical and telecom systems and wet utilities for fresh water, storm water, and sanitary sewers. The electrical scope of work includes connecting to the 4160-power feeder, adding standby generators (2 each 750kW and 2 each 1,500kW) as well as BESS Battery systems of 1.5MW & 3 MW.
