The scope of work associated with subproject B7035 is to replace the entire switchgear building with a new drop-in-place, turn-key construction, NEMA 3R-rated, walk-in enclosure complete with all required equipment and a full-sized accessible vault under the structure. It is planned that this switchgear building shall be located near the existing Building 7035. This design shall minimize downtime and allow most of the new construction to be completed with safe cutting over the source and load feeders from the existing switchgear to the new switchgear. The electrical scope of work associated with this project is to upgrade the existing feeder protection and provide a prefabricated building with 15kV switchgear that includes two bus-tie breakers. This new building shall include 15kV switchgear, micro-processor relays, and provisions to operate the breakers both locally and remotely. Bid Option A1 provides dual 15-kV tie-breakers in separate cubicles to facilitate maintenance.
