This project included the demolition of the majority of the existing Bulk Fuel Storage Farm and the construction of a new fueling facility at the main base flight line to be in closer proximity to the aircraft. The new facility includes 15,000 linear feet of fuel transfer lines, two 15,000-barrel aboveground fuel storage tanks, a 1,800-GPM pumphouse, fuel operations building, emergency generator, and a truck loading and offloading stand with canopies.
The new system also included a 500-gallon Product Recovery Tank, a 350-gallon Oil Water Separator, and a unique 30,000-gallon Chillstand Fuel Tank with containment. Significant site preparation of the 14-acre facility included 26,500 cubic yards of mass excavation before fill, grading, soils recycling/haul-off, and the installation of the PCC Paving (115,000 square feet) and AC Paving (29,000 square feet) could occur. Site utility work included water, sewer, storm drain, and electrical service, including a 300kW emergency generator, as well as area fencing and rolling gates.
