Rotary Apron & Hydrant Fuel System, Yuma AZ

This project provided a 100,000-square-foot, 10-inch thick Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) Rotary Wing Fueling Apron, including construction of two aircraft hot fueling pantograph connections.  The construction also included a 2,400-GPM pumphouse, asphalt shoulders, airfield pavement marking, 1,500 linear feet of 12-inch stainless steel and 10-inch carbon steel hydrant loop piping and valves, and incidental site work and utilities.

Two new 5,000-barrel operational aviation fuel storage tanks were also constructed as part of the fueling system.  Additional work included area lighting, an aviation fuel transfer pipeline extension to this new fuel piping system, and incidental site work and utilities.

This project included new airfield lighting, ductbank, handholes and manholes, cables, grounding, and navigational aids.  A complete Airfield and Heliport Lighting and Visual Navigation Aid system was provided and installed, including light bases, wind direction indicator, obstruction lighting and marking, runway edge lights, runway threshold and end lights, runway distance markers, arresting gear markers, taxiway edge lights, taxiway guidance signs, hold position signs, and helipad perimeter lights.
