Fuel Distribution Construction

Aircraft Fueling Systems Construction

Nova Group is an expert in constructing fuel distribution systems for fueling and defueling large aircraft, which includes hydrant fuel system construction. Our aircraft fueling systems consist of above- or below-ground fuel storage tanks, housing for sophisticated pumps, control valves, and filters, carbon or stainless steel above- or below-ground pipes to distribute fuel to various fueling stands, and the fueling stands themselves. Fueling stands consist of either above-ground loading arms or below-ground metal or fiberglass fuel pits, called “hydrants.” Typically, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) or Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) manages the construction of these systems for the U.S. Air Force.

Since 1976, Nova Group has been awarded 86 fueling projects, with a value of over $1.7 billion. The work includes over 1 million linear feet of piping, 159 total tanks constructed, 64 pumphouses built, and over 1,000 pits installed.
